Part 1 Essay:What is it I want to understand by making this film? Describe what I already know, and what I hope to learn of understand better by investigating my own experiences or memories.

What I want to understand by making this film is how I’ve changed throughout the past few years into the peron  I am now. It took becoming a Nanny to realize my strengths as an up and coming teacher. I want to understand more in depth the actual moments that I went through when I realized that I had made special bonds with each one of the children that I am a Nanny for. The obvious subject of my story would be being a Nanny refocused my life. The less obvious subject would be how it took failure, and a reattempt at working with children to recall how much I liked going to be a teacher, and how working as a Nanny made my weaknesses stronger.  I already know that being a Nanny has changed my life. I want to investigate more into the in depth moments that really did it for me. I have fond memories of the kids flooding the house, and also of comical moments with the kids, but I want to know what really changed my mind into knowing that I would make a good teacher. I’d like to investigate each relationship that I have with every child.

Part 2:

The thing that is the fundamental moment in in my film would be I think in two spots. I think one would be my whole idea of thinking I would fail at being a teacher. I think this is a strong point that I would want to get across and is also a strong emotion; Failure. I think that once I got this point across it could allow for an almost self realization of myself. I used to think that I would fail as a teacher, then becoming a Nanny allowed me realize that I would succeed as a teacher. I got to this point by at first not being able to continue to work in retail, and having to take this job as a Nanny just because I was short on cash. I never thought the job would evolve into what it is today. Taking the postion allowed me to see how well I worked one on one with kids, and how much I really loved seeing them grow and explore new things. I think once this shift took place and I went from failure to reality it shows how I’ve grown. I would really want to incorporate some of the very important moments like when the youngest girl told me she loved me. Also when the seven year old read me a book for the first time. Some of these moments really show my strenghts and compassion for these kids.

Part 3:

As a result of the shift, now I am in a place where I’m happy being a Nanny and love each one of the children that I care for. Because of the shift I am also completing my goal of becoming a first grade teacher. Each one of the bonds that we’re formed throughout my transition of becoming  a Nanny has strengthened me as a person. I think that lots of girls my age are now going through this because Nannies are no longer considered to be old fashion. They are young, educated, girls who really have a good head on their shoulders. I think in culture a lot of girls could relate to this, because I belive many girls going to school to be teachers always think that they will fail in some way or another. I also think that many girls work with kids and find insight through it.  I want my audience to learn that first off with any young girl there’s always doubts that she will fail at something. With the stress of school, and all the requirements for becoming a teacher, I want people to learn that it’s not as easy as it looks. Also that being creative is something that takes time, and confidence. From gaining the job as a nanny it allowed me to realize my strengths.  I think  this is important for all girls to realize the strengths that they have, and to use those strenghts to pursue dreams. I also think on the other hand that from this film I want people to see the close relationship of working with children and what it did for me.
